1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the YT Summary Chrome extension ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

YT Summary is a browser extension that:

• Extracts transcripts from YouTube video pages
• Generates AI-powered summaries using custom prompts
• Provides multi-language transcript translation
• Displays translated subtitles on the video player
• Exports transcripts as .txt files

The Extension operates as a Chrome browser extension and requires an active internet connection for AI summary and translation features.

3. User Accounts

• You may use the Extension with a free account, which provides a limited daily quota of AI summaries.
• Signing in via Google OAuth is required to access paid plans and to track your usage quota.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscription Plans & Payments

4.1 Free Plan

The free plan includes a limited number of AI summary requests per day. Limits may change at our discretion with reasonable notice.

4.2 Paid Plans (Starter & Pro)

• Paid plans are billed monthly through ExtensionPay.
• Payment is processed at the time of subscription and renews automatically each billing cycle.
• Prices are listed in USD and may be updated with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

4.3 Cancellation & Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Extension's settings page.
• Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Extension for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
• Circumvent or manipulate usage quotas, rate limits, or billing mechanisms
• Use the Extension to scrape, harvest, or collect data from YouTube in violation of YouTube's Terms of Service
• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Extension or its outputs
• Use automated tools or bots to interact with the Extension

6. Intellectual Property

• The Extension, including its code, design, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
• AI-generated summaries are provided for your personal use. We do not claim ownership over summaries generated from your custom prompts.
• YouTube video content and transcripts are owned by their respective creators and are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy or completeness of AI-generated summaries
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Compatibility with all YouTube videos or browser configurations
• Accuracy of transcript translations

AI summaries are machine-generated and may contain inaccuracies. You should not rely solely on AI summaries for critical decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Extension, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Actions taken based on AI-generated summaries

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Third-Party Services

The Extension relies on third-party services including OpenAI, Google, and ExtensionPay. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

10. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the Extension or by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Extension shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal remedies.
